According to customs data, the export of spunlace nonwovens reached 450kt in 2025, hitting a new historical high with a YoY increase of 12%. The average export price dropped by 4% YoY to $2,262/mt. On a monthly basis, the average prices has witnessed a gradual rebound. Starting from 2017, the export volume has registered growth in all years except 2021 and 2022, with a compound annual growth rate of 13% over this period.
Spunlace nonwovens are exported to a large number of destinations, with exports to 186 regions recorded in 2025, an increase of 3 regions YoY. While the export market remains relatively concentrated-the top 8 regions accounting for a combined 61% of total exports, the share of these top 8 regions has been on a gradual decline since 2022 (when it stood at 68%), reflecting the global expansion of China's spunlace nonwovens exports.
Zhejiang remains the core export base for China's spunlace nonwovens. Though its export share has been gradually declining since 2023, it still accounted for 54% of the national total in 2025. In recent years, the provinces that have seen notable growth in export share are Shandong, Jiangsu and Guangdong, with scattered growth also recorded in other regions.
Since 2022, the annual export volume of spunlace nonwovens has been breaking historical records consecutively, with a YoY growth rate of over 10% each year. At present, the export dependence rate (export/production) stands at around 26%. China's spunlace nonwovens exports cover most regions in the world, and the reliance on top destinations has been decreasing in recent years. The regions with relatively fast export growth mainly include Brazil, Mexico, Israel, Russia and Ireland. Zhejiang remains the dominant exporter of spunlace nonwovens in China. Despite a slight decline in its share in recent years, it still exceeds 50%. Shandong, Jiangsu and Guangdong have seen a rise in their export shares, while the shares of other regions have remained largely unchanged.
